Framing Stories That Stick
About Me…
Hi, I’m Lynn Douglass—a Brooklyn-based storyteller with a passion for turning ideas into magic. My background? It’s a mix of creative writing, journalism, and teaching. I’ve reported for Forbes, taught at Columbia and created workshops for companies like Ragan and Rokt. I hold a BA in Creative Writing from Hamilton College and MS from Columbia’s School of Professional Studies.
These days, I focus on helping women entrepreneurs tell their stories--running creative business writing workshops that are equal parts inspiring and fun. Along the way, I’ve coached speakers for The Knowledge Graph Conference, dipped my toes into Improv 101, and served as a digital crisis counselor for Crisis Text Line—because I believe creativity and compassion make an unbeatable combo.
I’ve called both Tokyo and Brooklyn home, and I’m all about keeping life in motion. Sometimes that’s plunging into icy waters, participating in sprint triathlons or City-biking--and whether I’m crafting stories or pedaling through the city I’m always chasing the next adventure
People are talking about me…
“Lynn has the rare ability to translate her unique intellectual skills into educating, training, mentoring, and helping others. Lynn is not someone who goes halfway into a problem or addressing a student’s concerns or needs…allowing those around her to succeed as well.”
“Lynn is an insightful writing coach, an effective educator, a gifted professional writer in her own right…and a dynamic presenter. It’s rare to find those traits in one communicator…she delivers the goods in a way that’s memorable and effective.”
“Thank you! For being a creative pearl in the crown of the Knowledge Graph Conference :) You inspired me to translate my knowledge and inspiration into slides that talk and matter to people.”
“The whole class benefitted, as did I, from Lynn’s superb writing skills and feedback on compelling storytelling. I look forward to working with her again.”
“I was incredibly impressed with her ability to play the many roles that the position demanded: as an administrator, counselor, mediator, reviewer, advocate, creative partner, and trusted colleague.”
